Since Manfred has been supporting us in this school project directly on site, he has also started to teach the students German. After only a few months, he has taught quite a few students to such an extent that currently about 17 students can take an exam at the Goethe-Institut in Nariobi. This will now take place on 2 dates in October and November. Due to a travel restriction, only 5 7th grade students are allowed to take the exam in October. The other 12 will be registered in November.

About 21,000 KES are needed for the October exams. Of this, 16,000 KES for the Goethe-Institut and 5,000 KES for travel expenses. The same is needed for the November exams.

Total amount: 42,000 KES, about 280 €.

The children are happy about any support, because the cost of living has already risen noticeably this year due to tax increases and it will continue to rise at the turn of the year.

Seit Manfred uns bei diesem Schulprojekt direkt vor Ort unterstützt, hat er auch begonnen die Schülerinnen und Schüler Deutsch zu unterrichten. Schon nach wenigen Monaten hat er etliche Schülerinnen und Schüler so weit unterrichtet, dass derzeit etwa 17 Schülerinnen und Schüler ein Examen am Goethe-Institut in Nariobi machen können. Dies soll nun an 2 Terminen im Oktober und November erfolgen. Aufgrund einer Reisebeschränkung dürfen im Oktober nur 5 Schüler*innen der 7. Klasse am Examen teilnehmen. Die anderen 12 sollen im November angemeldet werden.

Für die Examen im Oktober werden etwa 21.000 KES benötigt. Davon 16.000 KES für das Goethe-Institut und 5.000 KES für die Fahrtkosten. Für die Examen in November nochmal der gleiche Betrag.

Gesamtsumme: 42.000 KES, etwa 280 €.

Die Kinder freuen sich über jede Unterstützung, denn die Lebenshaltungskosten sind in diesem Jahr aufgrund von Steuererhöhungen schon spürbar gestiegen und sie werden zum Jahreswechsel weiter steigen.
